Academy award nominated and Golden Globe winning actor Mickey Rourke had another opportunnity to celebrate his illustrious career, as his achievements were the highlight of his hand and footprint ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

This made Rourke the 254th person to have their work and career celebrated in cement near the famous Hollywood theater, solidifying him with famed contemporaries like Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, Jennifer Anison & Tom Cruise.

Rourke is a heavy hitter, beginning his career in the late ’70s and blossomed into a leading man in the 1980s with films like 9 1/2 Weeks, but spent the ’90s pursing a career as a boxer, taking small supporting roles at the same time.

However, it was the Darren Aronofsky’s 2008 film The Wrestler that solidified his career and comeback.  Rourke continues to choose roles that have a level of emotional depth and tragedy, which allow him to display his range and talents as an actor.

While signing his hand & footprints Rourke posed like a proud peacock, displaying the star quality that garnished him success to begin with.
