Pics and Details of Michael Jackson’s Funeral

Michael Jackson’s Memorial Service drew thousands of fans, mourners and loved ones and was two hours of speeches and songs held at the Staples Center.  Family and friends gathered onstage to speak and sing, and there didn’t seem to be a dry eye in the house.  Family members included mother Katherine and father Joe, brothers Marlon, Jermaine and Tito, sisters Janet and Latoya, and Michael’s children Prince Michael Jr., daughter, Paris Michael Katherine, and son Prince Michael II (all dressed in Versace).

Amongst those that spoke and performed included Mariah Carey and Trey Lorenz, Queen Latifah,  John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Stevie Wonder, Mickey Rooney, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Larry King, Brooke Shields, Corey Feldman, Smokey Robinson, Reverend Al Sharpton, Supreme Minister and National Representative of the Nation of Islam Louis Farrakhan, and Producer Berry Gordy.  A rose covered coffin holding the remains of Michael Jackson rested at the front of stage.

Jackson, 50, died June 25th, after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles. Jackson is survived by his three children; son, Prince Michael Jr., daughter, Paris Michael Katherine, and son Prince Michael II.  Michael Jackson sold more than 750 million records, had 13 number one singles, more than any other male artist, and is one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice; once as a member of The Jackson 5 in 1997 and later as a solo artist in 2001.

A fitting farewell to the King of Pop.
